Badlands Genetics is family owned and operated, which means everyone plays a part to get the job done! We are truly grateful to everyone who helps throughout the AI season and over the year to meet the needs of our customers.
As we like to say, “It’s a shitty job, but we sure do have fun doing it”!
Nordby Lineup
Sarah is the brains and heart of our operation! She’s never met a stranger and is like a dog with a bone tracking down background information for customers. The most impressive aspect of Sarah however, isn’t her ability to memorize historical facts or her never ending battery, it’s actually how at 5’2” and 130 lb. sopping wet she’s able to hoist and fill nitrogen tanks like no one’s business.
Sarah handles most of the semen orders, nitrogen fills, sire questions, and lining up sync supplies for customers.
Sarah- Energizer Bunny
Donald is the resident idea man and story teller of the family. Some of his favorites include fly-fishing in New Zealand and the time he got to fly between AI projects! Someone once said that he was “the most interesting man…in…the world”, and we’ve yet to hear the end of it. His beverage of choice is cherry or blueberry Bubblers.
Donald is the primary organizer of AI projects and is often found B.S.ing in the AI Barn.

Ty- Mr. Clutch
Ty steps up to help as the need arises, from breeding cows to loading AI guns, there’s nothing he won’t help with! His specialty is inserting CIDRs and building the tightest barbwire gates in the county.
Hannah is the ultimate wing woman as she helps fill in the gaps and keep things flowing smoothly...to the best of her abilities that is! She got her start giving reproductive shots, and still has the quickest draw in the county. Over the years she’s progressed from lead AI gun loader to holding her own with Todd and Donald in the AI barn. She’s taking on a larger role in the business so you might see her around filling nitrogen tanks, dropping off supplies, or calling about semen orders.
The most important thing to remember about Hannah is that providing snacks is key to earning a spot on the coveted list of favorite customers… bonus points if they are gluten free!

Tate is another one to intermittently help out. He’s the resident cowboy, and enjoys inserting CIDRs in his spare time. If it involves a horse you can count on him being there!

McKenna officially joined the family in September of 2024, however she’s been an integral part of the operation long before that! She recently attended AI school and we are looking forward to getting her in the mix loading AI guns.
McKenna- Mrs. Photogenic
Eric and Andrea Bowman along their children Dillon, Livia, and Grayson run a registered and commercial angus cow-calf operation located south of Rhame, ND.
Eric along with Dillon primarily covering Rhame and Western Slope County, as well as stepping in to help throughout the breeding season. With a calm and collected attitude Eric does whatever it takes to get the job done.
